Examples of Glow in the Dark Mosaics!
When I first happened upon some glow-in-the-dark glass I was instantly smitten. Here I was already completely sold on all things tile and then here is this tile that goes one step further and transforms everything it is included in! I love it so much that when the tile shop that first started selling it to me closed down I searched all over until I found another shop that could import it on my behalf. The glow tiles come from Spain, so I have to pay a hefty air-freight fee to import them but it’s all worth it when I get to see people’s eyes light up with wonder at the site of a glowing piece of tile art. There are two colors the glow glass comes in, a yellowy white and a pale blue with an iridescent finish. They both glow the same bright blue so I like them both equally and they are sold here:

These tiles nip easily with glass nippers and are exterior grade frost-proof 1″ x 1″ squares with smooth rounded edges, perfect for mosaic projects inside and out. All you need is a little bit of light to charge them up. Sunshine and electric light bulbs are the easiest sources or for an extra bright charge, an ultraviolet “black light” works best. So here are a few of my glow in the dark mosaics to get your imagination going. Think of the possibilities for lighting up a pathway, a dark night club or a swimming pool. Enjoy!
